Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter

  • 1 c sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 2 c flour

Prep

Let butter soften to room temp. Preheat 400.

Directions

  1. Cream together the softened butter and sugar.

  2. Add the rest of the ingredients, mixing in a bowl. Cover and chill for at least an hour.

  3. If you plan on making shapes, roll the dough 1/4 inch thick on slightly floured surface and cut with desired floured cookie cutters.

  4. If not using cookie cutters, slice the log into 1/4 inch thick cookies.

  5. Place on un-greased cookie sheet and bake.

  6. Bake at 400 until edges are beginning to lightly brown.
